My name is Ted Ihns and I have had the opportunity to be the superintendent of Howard- Winneshiek Schools since July 2017. Prior to becoming superintendent at Howard-Winneshiek I served in administrative roles:
Elementary Principal in Inver Grove Heights, MN
Associate High School Principal in Roseville, MN
Assistant High School Principal and Dean of Students in Farmington, MN
Prior to becoming an administrator I worked in school districts both in Minnesota and Iowa for 12 years as a K-12 Physical Education Teacher while also serving as a coach or advisor to the following activities football, basketball, baseball, student council advisor, junior class sponsor and Peer Mediator sponsor.
I received my Bachelor of Science Degree from Concordia University, St. Paul. I earned my Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership along with my K-12 Principal and Superintendent License from Winona State University.

During today's April 2nd 2020 news conference Gov. Reynold's has ordered all of Iowa's schools to be closed until April 30th. This includes all normal school day activities and all extra-curricular activities.
